Mission Statement
The Eagle River Park Coalition is a group of water recreation enthusiasts that believe in the community value of high performance, well designed, in-river features.
Generational communities of river surfers are growing everywhere they are from Salida to Boise to Ebensee, Austria.
Well engineered water features are:
- safer
- work for longer durations during the summer months
- draw more capable and experienced river users from the local and nearby communities
We wish to create a more engaging, high performance wave and gathering spot at the Eagle River Park.
Surfers Get Organized
The Eagle River Park Coalition was formed by a group of dedicated river users who met and formed friendships at community boards while surfing the wave at Eagle River Park. Since opening day, the river park has been a fantastic community gathering spot with in-river features serving as a focal point for high performance surfing and kayaking, as well as swimming and tubing during the hot late months of summer.
Having witnessed what is possible with the opening of Salida’s new Scout Wave 2.0, we’ve come to see that there’s so much more potential in the Eagle River for a longer season, safer features, and continued growth.
For this reason, we formed the Eagle River Park Coalition to steward a new vision of the river park for Eagle Colorado. The Eagle River Park Coalition directors are Lachie Thomson, President, and (fill this in when the rest has been decided). We are a public group open to new members and are overseen by a board of directors comprising (tbd).
